WTF? Kidding when you blocked me, hmmmm. You blocked me several times and you did that to me and other people as "Punishment" A passive aggressive move on your part. So, don't try to pacify me by giving me that song and dance. You also recently went into a couple of my own threads and tried to insult me. Stop trying to insult me and I won't block YOU again, got it? Good.

I live in an apartment. I've inherited from my parents. I would prefer to live in a private house with a backyard & parking space in front & in the back of the house. I would grow basil, vegetables & herbs if I live in a house that has a garden. I would air dry my clothes in the backyard.

Right now I air dry my clothes on a clothing rack on the balcony of my bedroom. Save money on electricity & the clothes last a lot longer by air drying it in the sun.

Living in an apartment in a building is safer. No one can get to my apartment unless the security guards let them go through the lobby to take the elevator to my apartment. But you don't have a lot of privacy. The guards see everyone entering & leaving your apartment. You don't have to shovel the snow, no breaking your back in the winter.

Living in a house you can have a lot of privacy. The guards in the lobby don't see everyone entering & leaving your apartment. The movie stars live in a doorman building for security reasons, to avoid paparazzi & snoopers.

Living in a private house let's say Alahunter or silva decided to come & visit you uninvited, you don't have any guards to get rid of them. Maybe your friends (smith & Wesson, your gun) will help you get rid of uninvited guests. You see how Korbyn & silva harassed people on here posting their home address? Living in a private house you have to deal with people like Korbyn & silva, as to how to get rid of them if they show up uninvited. You don't have to worry about things like that if you live in a doorman building with 20 security guards guarding the lobby. They won't let anybody up to your apartment unless you said it's ok. They (the security guards) call your apartment from the lobby & ask you if they can let people up to your apartment/.

My own house. I rented all my adult life. Never again. All that money just pissed away, given to somebody else, and I had absolutely shit to show for it. With all the money I've spent on rent over all those years, I could've owned FIVE houses by now.

Now, I own my own house. Paid in full. It's mine. I can do what I want with it, or not. It's my choice. The peace of mind is immeasurable.

Don't pay your taxes and then see who owns it. There ought to be a law, I know.

I live in a house. I actually live in what is considered one of the best neighborhoods in this area. Of course I have guns. I also have security cameras. If Anyone came to my property with the intent of harming me, I can assure you they would never leave. There is a law here that if anyone is even attempting to break in our house, we can shoot and kill them. And, it takes very little to drag them under a window.

I do pay my taxes. They are quite reasonable, so it's not a problem. Comparing paying my own property taxes, homeowner's insurance, and ordinary bills to paying rent to somebody else, I'll pay my own things every time. I come out on top, and I have something to show for my efforts.

I know, I don't think that is right either. Us home owners have to pay a shit load of taxes that others do not have to pay. Mine is coming up in January, right after Christmas.

I know. I was in my 20's when I bought my house all by myself. It is paid for. The value has gone up tremendously. I could not afford to live in this neighborhood if I had to pay rent here.

I'm not interested in owning property. it's a big fat hassle. it's never truly yours anyway as long as uncle sam expects taxes on it.
plus I can pick up at any time and change my whole life at the drop of a hat in any way I choose without all the who ha.. it doesn't mean I will but I can if I choose it.
and nobody can attempt to take what I haven't got.
I'm pretty happy about that.

Yes, it is truly ours, and Uncle Sam does not tax it, our city does. I like having a yard that I can grow stuff on, I like being able to sit on my front porch. I like not having some landlord that can come in to my apartment at any time. I like not having to listen to people stomping on the floors above me. I like being able to paint or wallpaper without asking permission. I like not paying money every month of my life for something that will never be mine.

I have lived in apartments, I even once rented a trailer in a trailer park. I am done with that.

Yes, I whine about paying property taxes each year, but I am also happy that I have no more house payments, and that I don't pay rent. I can use the money that I could be paying rent buying myself stuff I really like, like this brand new, super fast computer

Exactly right. And depending on the location of the house and how much property (land/outbuildings/etc.) comes with it, you're taxed accordingly. Where my house is, my taxes are quite reasonable. Sure, it's money I would rather NOT have to pay, but it's a small price to pay in comparison to the hundreds of thousands of dollars I've pissed away on rent to somebody else. They got the money, they still owned the building, I got shit. Now, I am the owner.

I lived in apartments a few times as a kid when living in big cities or on army posts. Only lived in an apartment twice as a young adult. But it was staggering home distance from bars which was a huge bonus.

I'm glad I bought the house I'm in now. It's a bit off the beaten track but I prefer it that way. My nearest neighbors are about 200 yards away. Nice fellas but I rarely see them except for passing each other sometimes on the narrow dirt drive we share. Well. I've been seeing more of them lately since I let them hunt on my land for a cut of the meat. But they've been over too much lately so that ends after this deer season.

The taxes and insurance etc are yearly burdens but still WAY less than what I've paid per year on house rentals in the past. I qualify for a conservation easement on my land since I own enough undeveloped acreage. I can apply for it at the beginning of the new year. It'll cut my property taxes in half. So hell yeah!

I don't necessarily have a need to go anywhere far but I've got that option if I wanna do it right this minute. it's not just that. it costs me nothing more than the rent I pay if something needs fixed like the plumbing.
I used to have more things than I knew what to do with. that even got to be a hassle. I got rid of it all except for little things that only hold meaning to me.
everything except those little things that hold meaning to me can be replaced.
life is too short to bind yourself to things.

we moved around a lot too. my folks own their own home. I just don't bind myself to things anymore.

one of my friends house got broken into. he has or had quite a collection of pricey rare comics and comic figures. people don't break into my place because they'd be disappointed. lol that's the way I like it.

Definitely my own house. I've got a farmhouse that sits on 14.5 acres, large pond so I can fish anytime, nearest neighbor is 1/2 mile away on either side, sits waay off the road, very private, no neighbors up my rear end, can paint or improve anything I want without permission, no landlord can up & tell me I have to move, can have my pets or horses. Can shoot my guns if I want. Don't have to keep my truck locked up. No traffic to keep me up or neighbors thumping around. Can sit on my backporch under the ceiling fan nekkid after a shower, privacy, privacy, privacy. Very peaceful living out here in the country. I've never lived in town & don't want to. I've always lived in the country & wouldn't change it.
