We are facing a $20 trillion debt, it's time to make cuts.

Welfare:

A recent report from the Cato Institute, which argues that the federal government spends $668 billion dollars per year on 126 different welfare programs (spending by the state and local governments push that figure up to $1 trillion per year) Other reports say it's closer to $1.3 trillion.

Roughly half of this welfare assistance, went to families with children, most of which are headed by single parents. 43 percent stayed on welfare between three and four years.

Some states allow EBT card holders to purchase carbonated drinks and candy.

Cut the time to 12 months with an extension of 12 months if needed.
No candy or carbonated drinks.
Mandatory re education with job placement.
Start going after the dead beat dads that don't pay child support.

$50.1 billion for Foreign Aid. Cut it in half.

Education $87.4 billion. There are ways to reduce this and not sacrifice the quality of education.

War.

According to a Congressional Budget Office (CBO) report published in October 2007, the U.S. wars in Iraq and Afghanistan could cost taxpayers a total of $2.4 trillion by 2017 when counting the huge interest costs because combat is being financed with borrowed money.

Afghanistan was the biggest waste of money ever spent on a war. If we are going to fight then fight to win and get out.

What are your ideas on cutting the spending?

End welfare altogether.
The lazy f**ks, will miraculously
find jobs.

Foreign aid can be reduced, by
ending aid payments to nations
and people that hate America.

Education... Is top heavy, with
administrative costs. Cut administrators,
put the money toward actually educating
students.

War is expensive as f**k.
Our WW2 debt wasn't paid off, until
the 80s or 90s.
Afghanistan... Financially, it would
have been much more expedient, to
have MOAB'd that entire nation and
it's people into dust.

First of all I work, have worked since age 8. My full time job is automation. I'm an electrical engineer. My second job is operated on my property. I sell higher end firearms. I post while waiting at airports or between jobs.

Far too many high school grads. move onto college then end up with useless degrees. These goofs end up back at their parents house in debt up to their ears and can't find jobs that match their degree. Not mnay companies are hiring idiots with a degree in Women's Studies.

A large percentage of those open jobs are with fast food or retail that pays shit wages. Babymoma can't afford day care for her 6 little shit head kids. So she stays on welfare while the baby daddies smoke crack and make more little shit head babies.

I interviewed a gal from Georgia Institute of Technology. She had her masters in electrical engineering. She could not even pass my basic electrician's test.

I have been looking for two people for an apprentice position. Can't find anyone willing to take it on.

A friend which is an electrical contractor that does work on houses and factories has been looking for people for over 6 months.

Relax!

The U.S. federal budget deficit for fiscal year 2018 is only $440 billion.

FY 2018 covers October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018. The deficit occurs because the U.S. government spending of $4.094 trillion is higher than its revenue of $3.654 trillion.

Four Reasons for the Budget Deficits

Most people blame the deficits on the 2008 financial crisis. But that's only half the story. These enormous deficits were the result of four factors. Only the last two are related to the recession.

First, the attacks on 9/11 led to the War on Terror. That almost doubled annual military spending. It rose from $437.4 billion in 2003 to a peak of $855.1 billion in 2011.

Second, mandatory spending has increased. That means benefit payouts for Social Security, Medicare and other mandated programs. It's exceeded $2 trillion a year since FY 2011. These payments consume most of the revenue each year. Only an Act of Congress that amends a program's benefits can change them. That would require a majority vote in both houses and is unlikely to happen. Any reduction in benefits takes money out of the pockets of current beneficiaries. This powerful demographic of seniors would vote lawmakers out of office.

Third, the $787 billion economic stimulus package added to the 2009 deficit. That's because it cut taxes and extended unemployment benefits. It also funded public works projects to create jobs. But this expansionary fiscal policy was needed to push the economy out of recession. In fact, it did so in the second quarter of 2009.

Fourth, the recession reduced federal revenue and taxes. As the economy tanked, so did tax revenues. Government income fell from its pre-recession record of $2.57 trillion in FY 2007 to $2.1 trillion in FY 2009. It didn't recover until FY 2013 when it reached $2.78 trillion.

I'll tell you when to start worrying about the deficit!

OK, start worrying about the deficit!

Just kidding!

A budget deficit is not an immediate crisis. In moderation, it increases economic growth. It puts money in the pockets of businesses and families. Their spending creates a stronger economy. That makes other countries happy to lend to the U.S. government. It has always paid the debt back.

It's only when the debt-to-GDP ratio approaches or exceeds 100 percent that owners of the debt become concerned.

That's because they might wonder whether the United States will make good on its debt. Lenders grew worried in 2011 and 2013. BTW! That's when tea party Republican congressmen threatened to default on the U.S. debt.

About 50% of childbirths are covered by Medicaid. Looking at the data it's pretty even across most all States. So 50% are born of mothers that can't afford to raise their child without social aid.

A very large percentage of those babies will grow up knowing nothing but poverty and carry that onto their adulthood. They too will end up having kids they can't afford. So the cycle continues, it's been this way for several generations. Most of those kids will grown up with a single parent.

If you talk to these women most will tell you it's their right and having the taxpayers foot their bills is owed to them.

If we stoped Medicaid from covering their childbirths and refused to pay them welfare these women would become extremely selective with the men they choose to be with. These deadbeat men would start to find it increasingly difficult to find a woman willing to screw them.

After a generation or two we would see a significant decrease of babies being born of mothers that can't afford them.

The best social program ever devised by man - a job...

I agree that Congress should be paid part time wages for doing a part time job. Now to hear them talk they will argue that they are always working 7 days a week year round.

My argument back is if they are not working doing what they were actually elected to do then they are not working. Spending time with lobbyists, dining out, making trips to other countries to talk smack about Trump is not working.

Cut their base pay, reduce their expense budgets, and no pension.

But don't you find it interesting that a person such as Mad Max Waters can enter Congress with little money and end up with a shit load of money living the life of luzery.

If you admire the top down trickle down economical model as your goal, then look to it to trim the fat first as well.

Over bloated salaries for fine dining and basically getting nothing done, life time annual salaries and health care as well.

When a politicians dinner invite to the white house is all the news, why isn't the soup kitchen in Dallas or Detroit?

You want to cut from those that are bleeding?

The priorities in this country are backward. And to think some believe heathcare and education for all would be a slippery slope, when it actually holds a lot of the answer for the self sufficiency you admire so highly.

We could double the education budget and I am here to tell you it would not make much of a difference. We could pay Teachers $150,000 a year and their students would not perform much better than they do now. Education starts at home with the parents or parent. If Mom or Dad don't give a shit then their kids won't give a shit.

I spent a few years working at an inner city school helping 5th and 6th graders with their math. I pity those teachers. I have never seen so many unruly kids in my life.

You go after the parents. Like it use to be. Hold them accountable and then we will see a difference.

Adjusted 1965 dollars it cost on average to education a kid in public school $4,338 it costs today over $12,000. Kids today leave high school half stupid.

It takes a village to raise a child, I can guarantee you that YOUR parents did not raise you alone.

Teachers, mentors for sports, grand-parents, had HUGE impacts on your life.

Most moms and dads are working parents these days, what happens at school IS huge, teachers are monumental in the formation of minds.

Unless you are born with a silver spoon in your mouth, more people can boast of an influential teacher in their life that steered them in the right direction more than any other person in their life, especially those in depressed economical areas of the country.

If someone receives a scholarship its earned, not given.

But the ability to obtain an education should not be limited to those that can afford it.

what's that old commercial? A mind is terrible thing to waste. Children need guidance. Guidance combined with education can be the difference between mobility and stagnation.

Focus on education and health is much deeper than economics. And every ideal that republicans put forth are one of an economical model including those such as education and health which puts EVERYONE in the running.

You want people off welfare?

Give us a better idea than education, guidance, and solid role models.

In case you missed it Public Education is available for everyone.

Parochial Schools which cost about the same per year as a Public School turns out higher quality students with a graduation rate well above that of Public Schools. Most have Superior sports programs. The Teacher's earn far less on average than those teaching in public schools.

So what's the difference? The difference is Parental involvement. You go to any Parochial School and you will find parents volunteering their time to help out.
