We now have the "storm of the century" about once a month. But we need to keep denying because our much-beloved oil and coal billionaires need more money, damn it!

You will never see me on the news. A reporter approached me downtown several years ago for a comment and I waved him away.

I have a friend who was on the news in Miami several years ago. She is quite brilliant, but on the news she sounded like a total f**king moron (you know, like you right-wingers always do). They cut out everything intelligent that she said and posted one short line of stupid blather while she was smiling like a goof. Don't ever talk to a TV reporter.

There has ALWAYS been climate change. But there is also a reason the terminology was changed from global warming to climate change as well.

I didn't hear him b*tching when 3 feet of snow dropped on Washinton DC.

Besides, if this is the biggest hurricane in over a hundred years, what caused big hurricanes over a hundred years ago?

Just another example of the Climate Change Cult using naturally occurring events to push their agendas.

true, because some would see the word warming and think these changes were just about air temperature becoming higher

But hurricanes like Irma and Harvey are nothing new. They happened just like this over 100 years ago before all the planes, trains and automobiles.

Why blame it on climate change when it's par for the course?

Al Gore is a big time hypocrite and he also cashed in on his scam. He uses 21 times as much energy than the average household. He sold his Current TV network 5 years ago to Al Jazeera for $500 million. Gore reportedly pocketed $100 million, and in another widely reported story he is alleged to have pushed to get the transaction completed before higher tax rates kicked in on January 1 of the following year.
So what’s the problem? The problem is that Al Jazeera is funded by Qatar, which receives the bulk of its wealth from fossil fuels. Gore was grilled over this apparent hypocrisy, even by left wingers like Matt Lauer.

I wonder why the climate models predictions are so wildly inaccurate?
I also wonder why scientists would alter, or conceal data that didn't support their theory?

Global Warming and Climate Change are not the same. When scientists or public leaders talk about global warming these days, they almost always mean human-caused warming—warming due to the rapid increase in carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases from people burning coal, oil, and gas, which has been exaggerated.
Climate change, on the other hand are basically natural ones, such as ice ages. The earth is about 5 billion years old. Its climate has been changing continuously for that length of time. Climate change is a given; and not necessarily something we ought to worry about. "Global warming" on the other hand is said to be man-made, but many scientists have agreed that the vast majority of climate change is from the natural course of nature.

U know Rush is nothing more than a glorified dj, right?
So who cares what he says?

Secondly, in spite of inaccurate computer models, alarmists push the "we have to act now" rhetoric.
Never acknowledging that initiating programs based on flawed data could be equally, or more catastrophic than doing nothing.

It seems logical, to me, that overpopulation, and industrialized man would effect the natural climate cycles.
Unfortunately, the inaccurate climate models show that we don't fully understand what that effect is, nor how to counter it.

First, we should remain calm, take a deep breath, and continue the research.

Cutting back on emissions can't be a bad thing, as well as small scale individual actions to preserve the environment.

But a "global initiative" based on flawed data is not only irresponsible, and dangerous, it may also be fruitless.

That'll only get harder as funding is cut for the places that do the research on the climate.

Um, the lead in gas wasn't a climate change issue, it was a, "lead is getting into our ocean problem". It's one that was fixed through legislation. Much like the CFC ban reduced the damage to our ozone to the point where we actually saw it regenerate.

So clearly we didn't and still don't understand all the factors that influence the climate cycles.

Actually, you've only demonstartated that YOU don't understand. The leaded gas ban had nothing to do with curbing emissions.

What u fail to acknowledge is that until the 80s carbon wasnt considered the "leading" cause of climate change/global warming etc..
In the 70s, when leaded fuel reduction began, there were numerous theories, throughout the scientific comunity, as to cause and effect regarding enviroment/climate.
The lead reduction was introduced as a general environmental protection policy.
Which is why more research was needed then, and is still needed today.

Leaded gas was banned because it was getting in the air and oceans and as a result, was increasing the level of lead in people's blood. There weren't really that many theories. Lead in our environment and our blood was on the rise and we figured out increased lead is bad for humans.

And yes, more research is needed, but no one wants to fund the research because people don't believe it's an issue. That's the biggest problem with all this, and is probably the reason people use scare tactics. Eventually it's going to get to a point where research doesn't matter because the changes will be drastic enough to where most of our money will be spent adjusting to new problems arising from a changing climate.

I don't really see any radical changes being proposed. Not realistic ones anyway. Requiring higher mpg vehicles is a good move. Requiring catalytic converters is a good move. Clean air regulations are good. I'm not for radical change either, but I haven't seen to many radical ideas that are serious contenders for legislative approval.

And while I don't support the incandescent bulb ban the way it was implemented, that's more due to timing. The ban would have been a lot better for the environment if they had waited until LED technology was more advanced. Everyone got CFL's which mean more mercury in the landfills.

OP, when the Illuminati saw that the average surface temperature of the Earth was cooling, they changed their "man-made global warming" manta to "man-made global change" mantra. In fact, they were actually saying for a while that man-made global warming is causing global cooling." Now maybe that makes sense to men in mental wards, but not to ordinary people. It's laughable really. How can global warming cause global cooling?

A study recently came out showing that average global temperatures during the Middle Ages were 3 degrees warmer than those today.

Well, I guess it was all the automobiles packing the roads in those days that caused this. No. Wait a minute, there were no automobiles in those days, so it couldn’t have been that. Hmmmm, let’s see. Oh, I know, I know, don’t tell me, it was all the farts from the horses that caused that. Ummmmm, no, it couldn’t have been that either.

And it has been shown that surface temperatures of all the planets track proportionally. I guess that is due to all the people on the other planets in our solar system that causes this. Hmmmm, no, it couldn’t be that, there are no people on other planets. Oh, I know, I know, don’t tell me, it was all the animals on other planets farting like crazy--and boy do they love to fart. Hmmmm, no, there are no animals on other planets that we can see, and we can’t detect any farts in the atmosphere of those other planets.

Hey Liberals, oh ye gullible fools who never saw an Illuminati lie you never liked or questioned, how many times do we have to go over this? The average surface temperature of the planets, including that of the Earth, is a function of the Sun: IT’S THE SUN STUPID!!!

I don't know why you Liberals act this way. I don't know if it's the pot you smoke all day or if it's the fluorine in the drinking water or just what it is. All I know is that something is affecting your ability to think aright.

Louie

Again, I agree. I don't know of any radical proposals either.
However, as shameless money grubbers like Al Gore, and certain politicians whip the public into an ever heightening hysteria, the likelyhood increases.
