How often do you do it/see it?
Today I saw a man carrying an infant as well as a toddler playing (c)rap music and singing along to his children, not caring about the frequent usage of swear words.
Yesterday, I personally uttered numerous swear words around children when my leg buckled and gave out, putting me down on the ground in considerable pain.
I have seen many other incidences of such over the years, and when I think about it, it makes me sigh regrettably. I try to avoid doing it when I can, but honestly there doesn't seem to be much point in it anymore.
So what do you guys think/do about such.

I disagree, there is good reason not to raise potty mouths. I used to cuss like a sailor, but when my son was born, that all changed. I say son of a gun, oh heck, and my favorite l, what the flock!

Remember all the "words you couldn't say on tv" from George Carlin? Half those words are acceptable on tv now, especially late night tv.

I cringe when I hear a continuous potty mouth. Buttt, I'd probably cuss my head off if I fell down, then I'd look up and apologize to the parents.

Firstly, you can't keep your children from hearing those words. Like most people, I learned those words from my friends when I was a kid. Today, I use those words frequently. I love those words; they have a tremendous value; and I've always employed them effectively in my vocabulary.

Additionally, I never hid my usage of those words from my children. I never told them that they couldn't use those words. And here's the thing: neither my son nor my daughter use that kind of language. They never have. Your children will decide for themselves if they want to use those words and there's not a damned f**king thing you shitfaced, c*ck-sucking pig-f**kers can do about it.

I never swore around my kids and I try not to swear around other kids either....kids are little parrots so naturally theyre gonna repeat what they hear...its kinda stupid to give your kid shit for repeating what they hear from you....

Kids swear more than adults and have for years...since I was a kid and probably beyond.

I remember my shit of a brother "telling on me" to my dad and saying I'd said a bad word to him when I was 5 or 6...my dad was demanding I tell him what I said.

So I was going through all the swear words I knew in my head with the intent to select the least offensive one which would "ease" my punshiment.

...I got to the word "f**k" and thought...hmm I don't know what that means so I guess it can't be that bad...so told him that

Why would you want to. I reckon if you want to raise someone who sounds like a bumbling idiot? I've said my share of cuss words but it's not the norm. Most kids cuss to sound tough or to be accepted by their peers.

I don't have a big problem with it. Dad was career infantry so I grew up around soldiers and their colorful vocabulary. But in the presence of kids, it was generally limited to "shit" and "GOD DAMN IT ALL!" The second one was dad's particular favorite.

I see parents cursing in front of(and at) their kids all the time now. Grocery stores, fast food restaurants, etc. Really foul stuff though. The severity of the words don't bother me at all. Just the fact that these same kids are getting a tacit nod that they are okay to use in general company.

When my nieces were born, I trained myself to use the word "bloody" in place of "f**king" at all times in case I slipped up when I was around them. I had several British friends growing up and the word was common and accepted in their households. Now that my nieces are in their 20's, I can curse(and so can they) without fear of staining their social abilities. But I still try to refrain in front of them.

Besides... Swear words have more force if they're used sparingly and with purpose or at least emphasis. If one's sentences are peppered with them all the time, it just shows a lack of restraint and imagination.

And that's all I have to say about the f**king matter.

Tech, I am retired but our gang gets together on Saturdays and watch football at the shop. We have a fund and buy prime rib, fish, ribs, chicken wings, beans/taters and such. They gotta work and I don't. Love getting together with my friends. Now we don't drink any beer.

Why would you do that? Do you think you have a reputation of a stupid person to uphold. Gee we're all impressed.

Only a stupid person assigns stupidity to a persons choice of words, Swearing/slang etc is often environmental, if you were brought in in an environment of swearing and slang..then much like an accent its normal for you to adopt it...it has absolutely no bearing on ones intellect

You are merely demonstrating ignorance by using that passive aggressive insult...very childish
